Municipal Drinking Water
Products and system solutions from ITT Advanced Water Treatment for
municipal drinking water include:
Filtration and Clarification
- Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) systems for efficient primary
treatment of surface waters for the production of potable water.
DAF produces a highly filterable effluent for filtration by media
filters or membrane filtration
- Gravity media filtration systems employing a combination of
anthracite and sand with efficient air scour backwash. Additionally,
ITT provides filter equipment for GAC contactors that are used
to treat for organics as well as for taste and odor.
- Nanofiltration (NF), ultrafiltration (UF), and microfiltration
(MF) membrane technologies including standard systems, custom
engineered systems and products/components. Where the challenge
is primarily pathogens, or turbidity, MF or UF is appropriate.
NF is used for the removal of dissolved organic contaminants.
- To treat poor quality water sources for potable standards (particularly
those containing organic color or pathogens), ITT’s Fyne®
filtration process is a proven, simple, single stage process that
employs advanced membrane filtration technology together with
coarse screening and disinfection. The Fyne process does not require
coagulants as the membranes operate at a molecular level; hence
the process does not generate sludge and is resistant to both
sudden and substantial changes in raw water quality.
Disinfection and Oxidation
- Ultraviolet (UV) and ozone technologies and systems for municipal
drinking water disinfection
- Chlorine dosing, control and measurement products and systems
for water disinfection.
